USC Registration and Fee Information 2011-2012

ALL Returning USC swimmers, or swimmers who are transferring from another USA team but do not have current USA Swimming membership, MUST register before attending their first practice. 

 

 Swimmers who have NEVER particpated with ANY USA Swimming team, or those who are transferring from another team and have a valid 2011 USA Swimming registration, may attend practices for up to two 2 weeks before registering, however, the parent MUST remain at the practice location for all practices until the swimmer has been registered.

 

There are 3 payment options:

WHOLE SEASON PAID IN FULL: (September 2011 through mid-August 2012)-pay entirely in Sept.

PAY IN SESSIONS– 4 sessions/year (can choose which sessions to swim or not - to help us with planning and budgeting, please select all the sessions you will attend, you will not be charged for each session until the first day of each session)

WHOLE SEASON - PAID MONTHLY – cannot opt in and out of months, you are committing to year - (if you register later in the year monthly payments will start in the month you begin and go through August 2012)

 

DISCOUNTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL and MIDDLE SCHOOL SWIMMERS, AS WELL AS SIBLINGS AND LOCATIONS ARE LISTED AFTER THIS CHART

1.       Additional Fees

a.    ALL Swimmers must register with USA Swimming through our registration tool -  $53

b.    Meet entry fees are an additional cost.  Typically meet events are $3-$5 per event, and a swimmer would swim 2-4 events per day.  Swimmers usually swim a meet or two each month.

c.     Equipment – Though not required, a team suit and cap are recommended. Additionally, items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, pants, etc. are available for purchase through the team.

2.       Discounts

a.    Siblings: 10% discount 2^nd swimmer, 20% discount 3^rd swimmer, 100% discount 4^th swimmer

b.     Twinsburg resident = 12% discount (zip = 44087)

c.     Twinsburg Fitness Center member= 25% discount (must provide swimmer’s member ID #)

d.     High School swimmer –

                                                   i.      30 %discount off full year purchase option– deducts cost of practice for November through mid-February, and swimmer will not be able to participate in USC practices during the high school season

                                                  ii.      50% discount off sessions 1  and/or 2 - deducts cost of practice for November through mid-February, and swimmer will not be able to participate in USC practices during the high school season

                                                iii.      NO discount off of monthly payment option

e.       Middle School Swimmer

                                                   i.      15 %discount off full year purchase option– deducts cost of practice for November through mid-February, and swimmer will not be able to participate in USC practices during the high school season

                                                  ii.      50% discount off sessions 1 - deducts cost of practice for November through December, and swimmer will not be able to participate in USC practices during the middle school season

                                                iii.      NO discount off of monthly payment option

f.     With the exception of the high school and middle school swimmer discounts, only one discount may be applied per swimmer. The registration system will automatically calculate the best discount to give each swimmer being registered.

g.    Discounts are on practice fees only

h.    All discounts are applied in the cart during registration. You will not see them when selecting your practice group or payment plan, but after selection, when you go to check out, you’ll see them.

Online Registration Process

1. You will use the Online Registration link below to register your swimmer(s) for the team. Online Registration will require a credit card or electronic check.  If for some reason you are unwilling or unable to use our online registration system, you may contact the registrar by phone to have your registration prcocessed.

2. ALL USC registrants are required to purchase the 2012 USA Swimming registration (yes, even if you have the 2011 registration that has not yet expired) for $53.  If you are Transferring from another USA team complete the online registration and then print this transfer form, complete it and mail to the USC registrar - 17777 Sterling Glen Ln . Chagrin Falls, OH 44023

3. Families will be able to choose from three payment options for their team fees:

   1. full year at time of registration

   2. full year paid in 11 monthly payments on the 1st of each month

   3. 4 sessions - pick and choose which sessions your swimmer will participate in. Sessions begin, and payment is due on the 1st of September, January, April, and June. If you choose sessions 2, 3, and/or 4 at initial registration, you will be automatically charged on the 1st of each of those months, otherwise you will need to log in and re-register and pay for each session when the session starts.

4. Practice times for each location can be found using the Practices link above.  Note that practice times at ALL LOCATIONS will be adjusted during the high school and middle school seasons (November through mid February).  Check each location's Practice link above for details.  Additionally, there will sometimes be swim meets held at our practice locations which cause us to need to move or cancel our practices.  Families will need to check the website and watch weekly communications for any updates.

5. Swimmers wishing to swim at ORANGE, you have special registration instructions: 

   1. If you are registering for the Sea Cubs (the 5:00 - 6:00 beginner level practice group @ Orange) you must register through Orange Rec.  Sea Cubs wishing to attend swim meets are required to register with USA Swimming by using our online registration tool through the link below

   2. If you are registering for the Sea Lions (the 6-7:30 intermediate level practice group at Orange) and

      1. you ARE an Orange District resident, you will register through Orange Rec.  You MUST also register for USA Swimming as well as the $20 USC fee using the link below.

      2. you ARE NOT an Orange District Resident, you will register ONLY using the link below, not through Orange Rec.  You will select the Orange Intermediate Level practice group.

Payment Authorization and Policy

1. Swimmers who join the team before the midpoint of a session will be required to pay for the entire session. Swimmers who join the team after the midpoint of a session will be required to pay 50% of that session fee. 

2. Swimmers who try out for the team and then join owe dues starting the first day of tryouts.

3. Swimmers who change groups will be charged or refunded the difference.

4. Swimmers leaving the team must notify the registrar in writing.  Paid team fees can be refunded within 10 days of purchase, less a 10% processing fee. Meet fees, and USA Swimming fees will not be refunded.  Any future payments due for future months or sessions may be removed from processing with at least 7 days advanced notice in writing. 

5. There is a $1USC surcharge for each meet entered

6. Families are responsible for all meet entry fees once the entry has been submitted to the team, regardless of whether the swimmer actually attends the meet.

7. The family of each swimmer is responsible for paying LESI meet fines incurred. Examples of fines include: scratching at a Championship Meets or swimming slower than the time standard required to enter an event. Additionally, the fined swimmer will pay a $2.00 surcharge to USC. For more questions about fines please speak with Coach Charlie.

8. Statements are emailed to each family on a monthly basis. It is the family's responsibility to have a current email address on file with the registrar.

9. Failure to pay your account balance when due can result in the swimmer not begin permitted to enter meets and/or practice until the balance has been paid.

10. Monthly statements will be emailed to each family. Payment to University Swim Club must be received by the Treasurer by the date given on the statement via check or through payment on Thriva, or notification in writing received to the Treasurer indicating a reason for a delay in payment. Otherwise the family’s account will automatically be charged outstanding balances using the payment information on record.
